Celebrated actress Purnima, widely known as Dhallywood’s “sweet girl,” has spent nearly three decades winning audiences with her romantic and graceful performances. Now, the National Film Award-winning star is eager to break away from that familiar image by taking on a powerful negative role.

Talking about her future ambitions, Purnima said she wants to portray a villainous character that will surprise audiences and showcase a completely different side of her acting abilities.

“I really want to play a villain or a negative character,” she said. “I want to portray someone so convincingly that people will genuinely hate the character.”

The actress believes she has never been considered for such roles because filmmakers and audiences have long associated her with romantic and soft-hearted characters. She feels it is time to challenge those expectations and explore more diverse roles.

“I have never played a villain before. Perhaps no one has imagined me in such a role,” Purnima said. “People think my appearance doesn’t suit a negative character because they are used to seeing me in romantic and elegant roles. But I would love the opportunity to do something completely different.”

With this new aspiration, Purnima hopes to reinvent her on-screen persona and demonstrate her versatility as an actress by embracing complex, unconventional characters.
