Two journalists were killed in a road accident in the capital’s Uttara area early Thursday while returning home on a motorcycle after watching the FIFA World Cup semi-final between England and Argentina on a giant screen.

The victims were identified as Rabiul Alam Raju, a journalist with Praner Bangladesh, and Sakibul Hasan, a journalist with Sangbad Diganta.

The accident occurred on the highway near the Jasim Uddin Bus Stand in Sector 3 of Uttara, where a bus reportedly hit their motorcycle, leaving both journalists dead on the spot.

Sakibul Hasan served as the Finance Secretary of the Uttara Press Club, while Rabiul Alam Raju was the club’s Hospitality Secretary.
